PARKING:

We have one small parking lot to the left of the building that we have designated for senior adults and handicap accessible.  There is ample street parking around the church and you are also welcome to use the Blair Country Parking Deck which is only about a block away at no charge on the weekends.

ATMOSPHERE:

A member of our welcome team will greet you as you enter the front doors. We provide free coffee and cookies before each service at our coffee station. You can make your way to our INFO/CONNECT table where you will meet our welcome hosts, who will answer any questions you may have about Journey Church. Restrooms are located to the right of the INFO/CONNECT table. The sanctuary, kids ministry, and nursery doors are marked with a banner for you to locate where you need to go.

WARDROBE:

We encourage you to come to the feet of Jesus in whatever manner you feel most comfortable. You will see everything from jeans and t-shirts to “Sunday Best” suits and ties – feel free to come as you are! With us, you’ll never be judged or treated differently by how dressy or casual you appear, your taste in body art, or the amount of money it looks like you have in your bank account. Our desire is to come to the Lord with one voice, as one body – with many parts.

SERVICE LENGTH:

Our services begin at 10 AM each Sunday. Our service ends by about 11:30 AM, including about 25-35 minutes of worship at the start of service. We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to secure your seat, have a free cup of coffee, and become acquainted with Journey Church.

WORSHIP:

You’ll see pretty quickly that we love to worship through music! You will hear music from every stage and style of the church, from timeless hymns to the newest worship anthems, from gospel to modern worship, and everything in between. And we love to worship enthusiastically! There will be active praise going on throughout the sanctuary. Just know that you may participate in whatever posture is comfortable for you, and will never be required to engage in any specific way.

PREACHING:

Pastor Jeremiah Baker is passionate about preaching the full gospel in his messages. His sermons include a mixture of preaching styles, varying from expository to narrative to topical and sermon series from week to week. Pastor Jeremiah employs a combination of  thought-provoking biblical truth with practical life application points.

COMMUNION:

We come to the table of the Lord corporately on a regular basis. During this time, we celebrate the Eucharist by the taking of bread and grape juice to symbolically represent the body and blood of Jesus. You do not have to be a member or regular attender of Journey Church to participate in communion with us.

MEMBERSHIP:

If you have decided to make Journey your home church, you will be invited to participate in First Things, a 3-week exploration of our history, beliefs, standards, church practices, and volunteer opportunities within our church body. There are 2-3 of these courses each year; however, you are not required to hold official membership to participate in our community groups and certain volunteer groups. We don't necessarily call you members after you go through First Things class. We would rather call you a partner! We want you to partner with us in reaching our world for Jesus.
